This study focuses on the operations of the Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company (or Lepanto) in the municipality of Mankayan, Benguet Province. It is 5 hours (95 kms) north of Baguio City by bus. Mankayan is composed of 12 barangays, covering 16,336 hectares, with a total population of 34,502 individuals or 6,495 households[i].
