CANDON CITY - Three Bangued residents including a prominent lawyer of deposed Abra Gov. Vicente Valera were shot dead in three separate gun attacks in the capital town of Abra.

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake centered near Bangued, Abra, struck Northern Luzon at 8:15 p.m. Sunday.

"Develop the Abra Valley College, no matter how much it would cost you." That was the parting words of Prof. Pedro V. Borgoña the founder of the pioneering academic institution in Abra, which held last March 2005 its 58th graduation month for its elementary, high school and tertiary levels.
