Editorial: True Abrenians, where art thou?

Since I opened up the comment section to the public, I have been getting different email feedback. Some are threatening, some are request for lock down and some asking me why I would allow these comments to be posted.

For those who are following these comments, I agree with you. Although some comments/ideas makes sense, majority are way off the mark. You'll read trash talking, name calling, accusations and counter accusations. Even users impersonate others or use obscene aliases.

But what does this prove? It proved the real state of Abra. It proved that Abrenians are full of animosities towards each other. There is so much hatred, anger and frustrations. I wonder why. Was this the result of a so much corrupted political system? Was this because education was never the foundation of our community that respect to each other is non-existent? Did our parents failed to teach us how to act like a normal human being? Is this because of greed, money and power?

So I ask, Where are the TRUE Abrenians? are they extinct? Do you consider yourself a TRUE Abrenian?

Abra is hopeless!? From our corrupt political leaders to the very poor voters who sold their rights to both opposing sides are all infested with Agum and Apal!
Our leaders have this insatiable need for wealth and power while the poor abrenians will do anything just to survive.
Everybody wants change for a better abra but if you tell them to start it from themselves, they will just leave you alone.

Attitude and God fearing are the two most vital characteristic of someone that will apparently take in the responsibility to lead us and if the so called majority who dire wish for a change inorder to eliminate and dysfunction the rooten evil ambition of some to amass the wealth of the nation then we should all act together now rather than later as it could be too late when we get into realization. Election comes we should install someone capable in true heart to take the initiative to stand against these corrupted evil politicos to unseat them. We should not expect money in exchange to our vote and we should and must vote through our heart with integrity.

I guess religious and civic groups are doing their jobs but i think they are not being heard by the politicians.I've heard many times that they made PEACE TALKS which was centered in the Municipality of Tineg, o hope I'm not mistaken but, while the dialogue was still on going, there was something wrong happened in the Municipality already. That means the peace talk is not wholeheartedly accepted by both party so I would rather suggest that the problem in the province be addressed to the president to test also if the president is sincere enough to his promises. and for information purposes because Abra is unheard for a good news but its very known for its killing Zone of the north and only during calamities.

Rusi, yes maybe cctv is of great help to identify those making crimes in the province. sana nga lahat ng sulok ng abra na pwedeng lagyan ng cctv ay malagyan upang malaman kung sino sino ang mga gumagawa nito at kung sino ang mga mastermind. nakapanghihinayang ang abra. napakaliit na lugar pero walang asenso dahil iilan lamang ang nakikinabang sa kaban ng bayan. paano naman ang mga masang sobrang nangangailangan?ito sana ang iproject ni gov o si cong.

Well its good for them because they can afford to buy that kind of camera which is really helpful to protect their home pero paano naman ang mga katulad namin na di nakakafford. At di lang yan, dapat nakalagay sa mga lugar na matao at sa mga sulok na laging pinangyayarihan ng patayan. If materialized thru the effort of the management of this Site, it will serve as the best avenue in displaying the real picture of Abra where the President and heads of all gov't. agencies concerned could feel what really stored in our hearts and minds for so long. I agree with you bagnus...we should not waste time, if we can do it, then do it the soonest possible time so that the earlier the better, lets give priority for the future of our children. Just like today,isang buhay na naman ang nawala sa probinsya, isang Tiga Tineg na naman ang pinatay.Where is justice in Abra? My Answer:

Right before our very eyes are the true Abrenians. Just in this thread alone, I can see them, feel them, sense them alive, talking both sensibly and senselessly, sometimes pacified but most of the time argumentatively, screaming to be heard for their points of view or other’s points of view that they have adopted as their own. The fact of our being Abrenian can never be extinguished wherever we go. How do I know? I am a true Abrenian and I too exhibit those unsavory adjectives you used to describe us Abrenians. Fool is he who thinks he exhibits only the nice and saintly traits. That last statement of mine I am sure is now making many Abrenians ready to charge and pounce at me. That is how we Abrenians are, always ready on the draw even when we have not fully comprehended what we are responding to.

We resort to trash-talk, name-calling or even unfounded accusations when we have run out of logical argument. Sure we hide behind aliases because we do not want to personally absorb the counter-arrows nor do we want to personally offend others. For all we know, it might be our best friend or relative we are blasting at. We are also fully aware that we Abrenians many times judge the argument based on WHO is delivering it. It is also always easier to take counterattacks, even just laugh at them when we are hiding behind an assumed name. In the entire history of Abrenian.com, how many have come out in the open with their real names? You can count them with one hand and only when they make official and nicely-worded, polite announcements.

What does our high-strung nature prove? Nothing new. Not that we are ill-bred, lacking in education, manners, or that our parents failed to teach us to act like human beings. We are acting very much like human beings, but sometimes in the category of a lower specie. It just confirms the fact of our being Abrenians. Very competitive, wanting to be up there (where???) even if it means stepping on others, hurting others, demeaning others or making fools of others and ESPECIALLY OF OURSELVES.

Where have you gotten the impression that there was once before a different picture of an Abrenian? If there was one, it might have been an illusion or a hope.

Ask differently in a prospective way..... CAN WE STRIVE TO CAST OURSELVES IN A DIFFERENT MOLD OF ABRENIAN?

We could not blame directly the criminal politicians for they can not do it without the source. We should cut it instead by revisiting the integrity or credility of those entrusted in managing public funds. Hunger and killings is unstoppable if COA ontinuously succumb to intimidation and connivance. Someone who understand the system should bring it to the attention of Heida Mendoza so that they will be replaced with bulls and brave hearts that could stand up what it's right.

Areglated lolo ko! Even King David, one of the most blessed human being on earth was a victim of Karma. He was lustfully attracted with the beauty of one of his soldier's wife. I have no question with that, because any normal human being could hardly resist temptation of lust. But the problem is, why did he send the devoted husband in front of the battlefield only to be killed instantly?
Now, here comes what I called Karma. His own son from diff. mother raped his own half-sister from diff. mother. Adding insult to the injury, his another son, brother of the rape victim killed the rapist, his own half-brother.

Why don't we just tackle the issue of how the politicians in our province act, instead of tainting the personality of certain individuals. Literally, I presume as abrenians, who were born and raised by God-fearing parents, honest, hardworking, and lived with christian values. If these are the real abrenians; we (including you and I) are not extinct.
If this group of real abrenians you are asking are not the ones, but real abrenians engaged in politics; they are extinct . . if there were ever real abrenians in this group. Were there real abrenians (politicians)? If there were before the time of the Paredes, this group was extinct long time ago.
