The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) is leaving no conservation stone unturned if only to finally embark on the gargantuan task of protecting an endemic fish species of Cagayan Valley, perceived to be at the brink of extinction.

Like the tamaraws of Mindoro and the Philippine eagle of Davao, Ludong (Cestraeus plicatilis) should not be allowed to go extinct as it is considered a national treasure, according to Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala.

 
 
Alliance of Young Nurse Leaders and Advocates (AYNLA) Abra Chapter was joined by the Abra Valley Colleges in an extraordinary effort to protect and improve the environment for future generations. As part of the global environmental campaign Clean Up the World, the NSTP students and AYNLA joined together for the “We Can Save the Earth” Community Service i celebration of Clean Up the Philippines (CUP) Day.


Speaking on behalf of AYNLA and Clean Up the Philippines Movement, Inc., Mr. Darren Carino expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Abra Valley Colleges NSTP Department and the young nurse leaders of AYNLA.

 
 
BANGUED, Abra -- The initial damages to crops in Abra province due to Typhoon Mina are estimated at P9,579,437.37 while damages to provincial infrastructures are estimated at P14,500,000.

These reports do not include yet the damages on the national roads

Engineer Edwin Bringas, head of the Maintenance Division of the Abra Engineering District, is still consolidating the reports of damages incurred in the different national roads.
